Fútbol Callejero

Have you ever noticed that soccer can be manifested in different ways? One of these manifestations can be made on streets, for example. In Argentina, the name provided for soccer played on streets is “Fútbol Callejero” which is characterized by a common agreement among players according to the rules of the game, materials needed and space adaptations to play. During the sequence of classes that themed sports, kids had the opportunity to get acquainted with Fútbol Callejero, understanding its principles such as solidarity and cooperation, experimenting three phases of the game: rules discussion, game itself and the respect according to the previous rules discussed. As a way to consolidate this learning, kids were challenged to organize their own Fútbol Callejero festival, step by step, beginning with the ethic and moral principles of the game and later on with the thoughts about rules that were possible for everybody, including more people. They also chose a color, a name and a logo to represent their groups. Respect, cooperation, kindness, honesty, responsibility, fair play, organization, diversity, safety and fun were some of the values chosen by kids in order to guide them through the practice, ensuring equal opportunities to everybody.
